Where to use Mortein Rat Bait Station

1.

Select Treatment Area: Determine areas where rats and/or mice will most likely find and consume the bait. 2.

Application: To use box as bait station: Press tab and tear off the strip. Or carefully place 25-125g of bait into small containers to make additional bait stations. Do not scatter bait pellets. Place bait station under cover, do not place bait station out in the open.

  • Rats: Require large quantities (40-125g) of bait in one or two locations. Place 1 bait station per location, no further than 9m apart.
  • Mice: Require small quantities (25-40g) in several locations . Place 1 bait station per location, no further than 3m apart. Place 2-3 bait stations at points of very high mouse activity if needed. Record the number and location of bait stations for the purpose of replenishment and later removal.

3.

Maintenance: Most rats and mice will die 4-7 days after eating the bait. One feed is sufficient to kill rats and mice, however, rats and mice will continue to eat from the bait after a lethal dose has been eaten. Continue baiting for at least 2 weeks or until signs of rat or mouse activity cease. Inspect bait station daily. Replace or replenish eaten baits as needed and if they haven been eaten quickly, increase the number of bait stations. Continue observation and replenishment until no more bait has been taken. To prevent reinfestation, eliminate food, water and housing as much as possible. Remove any remaining bait after rat and mice activity has ceased. If reinfestation does occur, repeat treatment.
